Locorotondo tour

Locorotondo is a small town in Puglia, in southern Italy. It is located between Martina Franca and Alberobello in the Itria Valley, famous for its white stone trulli with conical roofs. It is officially one of the most beautiful parts of Italy (most beautiful villages in Italy). In addition to the suggestive panorama, the city is also famous for the production of wine.

The tour includes a visit of the city which is the main attraction lasting 1/2 hours in which we will walk, take photos and taste delicacies sitting at the tables of the bar overlooking the “waterfront”. Locorotondo is one of the most beautiful and cleanest villages in Italy, included in the Guinness Book of Records.

Locorotondo means “round place” in Italian. The historic center, in fact, is round and placed on the top of a hill. The beautiful and well-kept historic center with its flowered balconies is like a white labyrinth of alleys where the gabled houses – not common in Italy – are called coumers.

We will also visit several churches which Locorotondo enjoys including the suggestive Romanesque church of the Madonna della Greca, which dates back to the 12th or 13th century and the church of San Nicola, a small artistic splendor returned to public use after recent restorations.

From the panoramic road that surrounds the central part of the city, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Itria Valley that evokes a patchwork field made of vineyards and olive trees and roofs in the shape of a trulli cone.

Locorotondo wine

Locorotondo is famous for its wine, which you will find in the restaurants of the Puglia region. The main local wine is white.

Locorotondo DOC is a famous Apulian wine obtained from native vines, very delicate and harmonious.

At the end of the tour it is possible, on request, to visit a typical cellar and taste local wines and delicacies.
